Step-bump.

Thanks, Swan Lake Samba Girl and Chi Girl in Chi Town for reminding me of this great hilarious clip from "Reno 911" - dance inspiration can strike anywhere!  I personally enjoy doing choreography on the subway.  I have a ton of playlists on my iPod with music that inspires me in various genres.  There's nothing better than riding the subway to or from dance class, earbuds in, losing yourself in the music and trying not to just dance full-out in the aisles.  People may look, but I know, to paraphrase the above, "I'm not drunk, I'm just a dancer."

Meme.

Swan Lake Samba Girl posted this fun "Thanksgiving Meme." Procrastination is great!

1. When you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought?  Go get your bangs cut, woman!

2. How much cash do you have on you?  $6 even.  Change goes into the blue owl bank (that looks so much like the "How many licks" owl from those '80s Tootsie Pop commercials) to be counted and spent on a rainy day.

3. First word that comes to mind that rhymes with more?  Snore.  The end of the semester means unfortunately little sleep.

4. Favorite planet?  It WAS Pluto.  Sigh.

5. Who’s the fourth person on your missed call list on your cell phone?  Lauren from Dance Times Square, reminding me that I have an upcoming lesson (shout-out to Tonya!).

6. What’s your favorite ringtone to download on your cell phone?  I've got the "I Dream of Jeannie" Theme right now as my primary, and a little Bollywood for the unknown callers.

7. What shirt are you wearing?  My "Hola, Barcelona" t-shirt with the Spanish flag that I wore to my lesson.

8. Do you label yourself?  I prefer to call it defining myself.

9. Name the brand of shoes you’re currently wearing.  Aerosoles.  So pathetic, but comfy on the NYC streets (love that waffle sole!).

10. Bright or dark room?  Dark with candles - so relaxing.

11. What do you think about the person who took this survey before you?  She probably thinks I'm semi-stalking her, since everywhere I go online, she's there first!

12. What does your watch look like?  Conservative and small (I have freakishly small, child-sized wrists!).

13. What were you doing at midnight last night?  Curled up on the couch in NJ with a perfect husband and naughty puppy.

14. What did your last text-message say?  Happy Thanksgiving!

15. Where is your nearest 7-11?  I have no idea, but I do like an Icee at the movies.

16. What’s a word that you say a lot?  Sorry.  I've got to stop apologizing when I haven't done anything wrong!

17. Who told you he/she loved you last?  Pablo, as he dropped me off at the train.

18. Last furry thing you touched.  Folsom, the above-referenced naughty puppy.

19. How many drugs have you done in the last three days?  None!

20. How many loads of film do you need developed?  I really need a new camera for Christmas (hint, hint).

21. Favorite age you’ve been so far.  This one.  And I hope to keep saying that every year from now on.

22. Your worst enemy.  Malaise.

23. What is your current desk-top picture?  A great shot of Theda Bara, the original vamp.

24. What was the last thing you said to someone?  "Have fun in Japan!"

25. If you had to choose between a million bucks or be able to fly, what would it be?  I've got law school bills to pay, baby!  Gimme that money!

26. Do you like someone?  Immensely.

27. The last song you listened to. "I Cash Radii" by Pentaphobe.  Sort of obsessed with this song, even though I don't dance Tribal-style.  I'm thinking of mixing it into a more Cabaret-style song and choreographing something to it.

28. What time of day were you born?  Around 9 pm.

29. What’s your favorite number?  18.

30. Where did you live in 1987?  Blairstown, NJ.

31. Are you jealous of anyone?  I mostly admire people for their hard work and dedication, but sometimes jealousy sneaks up into that admiration, unfortunately.

32. Is anyone jealous of you?  I doubt.

33. Where were you when 9/11 happened?  In the Bronx, getting ready to head downtown to do campaign work for Freddy Ferrer on that primary day.  Then I spent the day with my six roomates and a priest (long story) in a Bronx so silent except for when a fighter jet would scream by overhead.

34. What do you do when vending machines steal your money?  Walk away.  That's the world telling me I don't need a snack or drink right now.

35. Do you consider yourself kind?  I try to be.

36. If you had to get a tattoo, where would it be?  Pleading the 5th Amendment.

37. If you could be fluent in any other language, what would it be?  Spanish.  I see a vision of my future where my kids and my husband complain about me and I don't know what they're saying!

38. Would you move for the person you loved?  I have.

39. Are you touchy-feely?  With the one I love.

40. What’s your life motto?  Dance, dance for the figure is easy, The tune is catching and will not stop; Dance till the stars come down from the rafters; Dance, dance, dance till you drop.  "Death's Echo" by W.H. Auden.

41. Name three things that you have on you at all times. Chapstick, Maxalt, MetroCard.

42. What’s your favorite town/city?  NYC.  But I do love London, as well.

43. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?  A NJ Transit ticket from NJ to NYC.

44. When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper and mailed it?  I'm a big letter-writer!

45. Can you change the oil on a car?  I leave those types of things to the pros.

46. Your first love, what was the last thing you heard about him/her?  I married him!  My boyfriends/crushes before that are: in jail, probably in jail, a doctor, a composer, and married to a lovely woman and probably still mad at me!

47. How far back do you know about your ancestry?  Hmm.  Depends upon which side.  I have a lot of interesting photos and memorabilia, though, because on my father's side, his grandparents and great-grandparents were in Vaudeville.

48. The last time you dressed fancy, what did you wear and why did you dress fancy?  I went to an "Adult Prom" that a friend of mine threw.  I wore a burnt orange bubble-skirted chiffon dress (okay, that sounds awful, but it was actually very '50s, Mambo-club styled).

49. Does anything hurt on your body right now?  Had a lesson with Michael tonight, so the feet, knees and thighs are not hurting, per se, but saying hello.

50. Have you been burned by love?  I've been so lucky to be warmed by it every day.
